ST. MICHAEL’S FAITH FORMATION PROGRAM
Jim Gorman, Pastoral Associate for Faith Formation, Ext. 15
At St. Michael the Archangel Parish, we welcome children, teens, adults and their families to deepen their understanding of the Catholic Faith. Through programs and prayer, events and outreach, rituals and fun, we help the participants deepen their appreciation and knowledge of the faith and help them to see Jesus in each other and in the community.
Adults, parents and grandparents can share their experiences and faith as catechists — we’re always happy to provide training at no cost to those who need it or would it.
For more information or to sign up for one of the programs, please contact Jim Gorman, our Pastoral Associate for Faith Formation, at 792-5859 Ext 15.
Like the school districts, we use the local school closing alert system. For your convenience, you can sign up to receive text alerts directly to your cell phone here — http://wnyt.com/closings/
See our Inclement Weather Policy page for full details. Cancellations will follow the public school closings.
Note to Parents of Children ages three to twelve:
Children’s bulletins are available at church entrances for children ages three to six and seven to twelve. Activities included in each bulletin relate to the particular weekend Gospel. There is no charge for the bulletin.
Youth Ministry, a group which looks to include teens into the life of the Parish, is underway at St. Michael’s. Some of the plans for Youth Ministry include service, social, The Word, evangelization, education, and community-building. Any teen (and his/her parents) is very welcome to speak with Fr. Tony or Jim Gorman for more information.
Making the Diocese of Albany a ‘safe environment’ for everyone
The Diocese of Albany is committed to providing a “safe environment” for everyone, especially children in our Faith Formation program. In accord with the Charter for the Protection of Children, we have chosen the Virtus program to achieve this goal.
NOTE: ALL VOLUNTEERS IN OUR FAITH FORMATION PROGRAM WHERE INTERACTION WITH CHILDREN IS REQUIRED MUST COMPLETE A VOLUNTEER SERVICE APPLICATION, AGREE TO A CRIMINAL HISTORY SCREENING, COMPLETE VIRTUS TRAINING, AND COMPLY WITH ALL DIOCESAN AND PARISH CODE OF CONDUCT POLICIES.
All employees of the Diocese and all volunteers who have contact with children must attend the program as a condition of employment or service. If you have any questions, please contact either Father Tony Childs or Jim Gorman at 518-792-5859.
